Muscat by Alexander Kurlaev
Alexander Kurlaev is the author of a gallery of portraits of world-famous Arabian horses made against an unconventional background: in front of frescoes, an old vaulted passage or a map of the European part of Russia. His favorite stallion is Muscat, the champion of the USA and Canada, bred at the Terek stud farm, which was acquired by American businessman Howard Cale from Arizona in the early 80s. After that, the pilgrimage to Russia of Americans began, who purchased Arabian horses of local selection for astronomical amounts. Today, the collection of Alexander Kurlaev has become part of the Russian history of horse breeding.
Whispers of Johnny Dara
The concept of the artist and designer Johnny Dara is to push the boundaries of everyday reality and create original and unusual artistic images. “Whisper of Horses” is a series of 12 works representing body art on the body of an Arabian stallion, inspired by the author’s love for the beauty and grace of horses. In each of them there is a powerful fusion of art and nature, an opportunity to take a fresh look into the animal kingdom. Initially, the artist planned to create his masterpieces in the sands of the Arabian desert, but objective obstacles forced him to move to a more familiar studio. During the filming, the stallion showed calm and docility.
Sculptures of Werner Albrecht
Recently, a German sculptor and fashion designer Werner Albrecht has been creating in Dubai. He concentrates on horse sculptures, and his favorite styles are Baroque and Rococo. The designer has plans to propose a model of fountains with sculptures of horses to the Meydan racecourse. Raised in a family of professional Berlin tailors, he was surrounded by beauty from childhood. In a small studio of his father, in which 20 masters worked, Werner met with the avant-garde movement. It is not surprising that his secondary project is a leather clothing line.
