The Louvre Abu Dhabi collection replenished with new exhibits

The Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi presents new outstanding acquisitions and temporary exhibits.

In October, the Louvre Abu Dhabi will show 11 new acquisitions in permanent galleries, and during the year - 40 new temporary exhibits, including masterpieces of ancient, modern and new art from around the world. New acquisitions will join 657 exhibits that are on display in the permanent collections of the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

New masterpieces of the permanent collection of the Louvre Abu Dhabi include:

A large-scale (175 cm) Buddhist sculpture of Avalokiteshvar from China (11-12 centuries AD), depicting Guanyin, the goddess of compassion and mercy. The sculpture is made in the classical Buddhist tradition of the Song Dynasty (960-1279);
