Dubai crashes due to sandstorm

Due to the sandstorm in Dubai, the number of traffic accidents has risen sharply.

In Dubai, more than a thousand road accidents have been reported due to a sandstorm. On Sunday and Monday, the police processed more than 16 thousand calls with accident reports.

According to police on Monday, 413 accidents were recorded: from light to heavy. On July 30, police officers received 6,830 calls from motorists.

On the first day of the storm, police recorded 631 traffic accidents, including 12 severe and 20 moderate. On Sunday, the police processed 9125 calls.

Most accidents occurred on highways, including on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Highway and Sheikh Zayed Highway.

Police appealed to residents to be careful while driving, as unstable weather is forecast to last until Friday. Authorities urged motorists not to violate traffic rules and speed limits, to maintain a distance between vehicles.
