A man tried to export gold from a UAE in a jar with food additives

At an airport in the emirate of Sharjah, an alien was arrested for attempting to smuggle gold in food additives.

Police in the UAE of Sharjah, UAE, arrested an Asian-born man at an international airport who was trying to illegally take gold items worth 100 thousand dirhams ($ US 27.2 thousand) to his homeland.

The detainee hid a container with powdered food additives under his clothes, in which he hid gold.

During interrogation, the suspect told the police that he had bought gold and provided purchase receipts. He said he decided to hide jewelry in an attempt to avoid paying taxes in his home country.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Al-Ketby, director of the police station at Sharjah Airport, said the police at the airport will not put up with crimes like this.
