Style and its expression

Esmod Dubai announced the victory of its students in the recent “Express Your Style” competition for fashion designers sponsored by Mercedes-benz Middle East.

The three winners - Esmod students - took the first three places. As part of the competition, which was held from March 25 to May 15 of this year, its participants had to submit original models of clothing for vacation, evening out and beach vacations. Moreover, the inspiration for all the presented models was to serve as the new convertible Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

A huge number of sketches from students and future fashion designers from different countries of the Middle East region were submitted to the competition. Interactive voting took place on the social network Facebook, but the final decision was made by a competent jury. The first place, according to the unanimous opinion of the jury and with a score of 100 points, was taken by Maimuna Hussein, who created a dress with E-Class Cabriolet design elements introduced into it.

The award for the girl was two VIP tickets for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin with the opportunity to meet and chat with leading German fashion designers, attend the “backstage” of this event and a fashion party, as well as an annual subscription to Harper's Bazaar magazine, a one-month internship in the head office Harper's Bazaar Dubai office and two VIP tickets for Esmod 2010 prom.

Azadi Zandi took second place with 99 points. Her annual award was for Harper's Bazaar Magazine and one-month internship at Harper's Bazaar headquarters in Dubai. Budur Abdulkader became the third finalist with a total of 97 points. All three students also had the opportunity to test drive the Mercedes-Benz car for one weekend, as well as silk scarves from the limited collection MercedesBenz and books with photos from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin as a gift. Models of the winning designers can be seen during the Fortnight fashion show, which will be hosted by Harper's Bazaar in October this year.

Tamara Hostal, founder and director of ESMOD Dubai, a French fashion university, said: “We are proud of our students winning the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Design Competition.

This is a great honor for our university, which once again confirms our desire to prepare a new generation of young designers and fashion designers for the world's fashion catwalks. Moreover, this competition showed that the Middle East society is ready to accept models of modern clothes created taking into account Arab traditions and modern concepts. We congratulate not only the winners, but also all the students of our university who took part in this competition. "
