Dubai senior policeman supports Trump in US entry restrictions

Lieutenant General Dahi Halfan Tamim, deputy head of the Dubai Police and Public Security, supported President Donald Trump’s decision to temporarily ban US citizens from seven Muslim countries from entering the United States.

Known for his controversial comments, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, deputy chief of Dubai police and public safety, spoke out in support of President Trump’s decision regarding a temporary ban on the entry into the United States of citizens of 7 countries with a predominantly Muslim population.

“Praise President Trump for his courageous decisions ... they can only be resolved through preventive measures," he tweeted on January 29.

Trump issued an order banning the entry of tourists from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for at least 90 days on Friday, January 27.

According to Tamim, the citizens of the above countries are “backward nations” that America does not need.

His comments differ from the sharp condemnation of this initiative by some world leaders and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

On Monday, Iraq called on the United States to reconsider the travel ban for its citizens, and Iran forbade US citizens who have not yet received a visa to enter the country.

Last year, Tamim tweeted a clash of civilizations if Trump won the U.S. election.
