Green metro line to open in Dubai in September

According to the Dubai Committee for Roads and Transport (RTA), in September this year, the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will open the green line of the Dubai Metro. The length of the green line is 23 km. In addition to two transition stations - Union and Khalid bin Al Waleed, intersecting with the "red line", it consists of 16 stations that are already ready for work and passenger service, with the exception of two - Al Jadaf and Creek, the opening of which has been suspended for an indefinite time.

According to Mattar Al Thayer, chairman and chief executive officer of RTA, the opening hours of the green line will be the same as those of the red one. During peak hours, the line will be served by 13 metro trains, during off-peak periods - 10 trains.

The green line begins at Etisalat Station, located in the Al Qusais area near the Emirates Road. This station has multi-level parking for 2350 cars and a bus station. The following are stations such as: Al Qusais, Airport Free Zone, Al Nahda, Stadium, Al Qiyadah, Abu Hail and Abu Baker Al Siddique. Underground line stations include: Salah Uddin, Baniyas Square, Palm Deira, Al Ras and Al Ghubaiba. Al Fahidi Station is located in front of the Khalid bin Al Waleed Transition Station. The penultimate station of the Oud Metha line is located above the ground, and the green line ends with the Dubai Healthcare City station.
